State Administration Council Member Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Transport and Communications General Mya Tun Oo attended MYANMAR CYBER SECURITY CHALLENGE 2023 (Open Level)

The Myanmar Cyber Security Challenge 2023 (Open level) took place at the Ministry of Transport and Communications, Office No. 2, in Nay Pyi Taw, running from 9 am to 4 pm. General Mya Tun Oo, the Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister of Transport and Communications, attended and delivered an inaugural speech during the event.

Union Ministers, Deputy Ministers Permanent Secretaries, heads of departments, invitees and team guardians attended the event and, provide encouragment and support to the contestants.

A collective of 25 teams, comprising 75 students from institutions such as the Defense Service Technological Academy, Technological Universities spanning states and divisions, Computer Universities, and Government Technical Institutes, took part in the event. The UI$ Team secured the top position, followed by the n00b_779082 team in second place and the U_SH3LL team in third place. The Ministry of Transport and Communications officials presented awards to the victorious teams.

The Myanmar Cyber Security Challenge has been an annual event in Myanmar since 2015. However, the event were unable to be held in 2020 and 2021 due to the constraints imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. It is reported that the competition successfully resumed in 2022 and the 7th edition of the competition can be held in 2023, and the winners of the competition will be sent to compete in cyber security competitions held in ASEAN countries.
